Digital tools are evolving faster than we can meaningfully adopt them

Digital tools and platforms are changing and emerging at a very rapid pace. In everyday professional life, there is rarely enough time to properly explore which tools genuinely support practical work.
I personally consider myself a quick learner. I usually adapt fast to new systems and platforms. And still, even for me, this constant stream of new tools can sometimes feel frustrating.
There are situations where a tool is introduced because it “has to be used” whether due to strategy, or organisational decisions. Only later does it become clear that the tool does not truly fit the practical needs of practitioners.
After 1.5–2 years, organisations may realise that the solution was not the right one. By then, time, energy and motivation have already been invested.
I have a feeling I am not alone with this challenge.
Have you experienced similar cycles? What made a digital tool truly useful in your context?
