What skills actually make international networking succeed?

In international projects, much attention is given to technical expertise, innovation, and measurable outputs. Yet in practice, project success often depends on something else.
From my experience in writing and coordinating international applications and reports, the most critical capabilities are often the ability to translate complex ideas into clear and convincing narratives. Also, cross-cultural communication and alignment of expectations differ. Most important in nowadays working life should be managing uncertainty when plans evolve during implementation
Technical competence is essential. But without strong transversal capabilities including communication, flexibility, critical reflection, collaboration, even well-designed work struggle.
